Berah serves as an advisor to CIEL. He is the managing partner at Genesis Commercial Capital, where he leads capital markets. He has more than 25 years of real estate experience and capital markets expertise focused on institutional capital and private equity for development and existing transactions. At Genesis, he led more than $2B in commercial and multifamily transactions over the past three years.
Prior to Genesis, Berah founded and ran a boutique real estate private equity firm for athletes, sourcing and underwriting a proprietary pipeline exceeding $1B. Previous work includes underwriting institutional acquisitions and valuations with the Arthur Andersen Real Estate Group and underwriting CMBS with the Wells Fargo Capital Markets Group.
Berah earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University and a Master of Business Administration from the Whitman School of Business at Syracuse University.
